Whistler’s Best Year EVER!

Anyone who visited Whistler during last season (2006/2007) was in awe of the incredible snow that started with the snowiest month ever in November (469cm) and continued through Spring into May.  The snow and incredible skiing and snowboarding had a lot to do with last year being Whistler’s Best Ever!

2006/2007 Statistics:

Total snowfall exceeded 46 feet – 40% more than the average.  It was Whistler’s 2nd Best winter on record.  The Summer season (May through October) 2006 was the best on record – 14% increase in room bookings compared to 2005.

US tourist visits increased 5% over 2005, especially notable, give the opposite trend seen amount most other Canadian destinations as the strengthening  Canadian Dollar.  Tourism Whistler is forecasting that the Winter of 2007/2008 will be at least as strong as Winter 2006/2007.
