With many of my listings getting multiple showings over the past few weeks it is a positive note when buyers start writing offers.   I am waiting to hear back on an offer I put in with clients on a beautiful condo in Whistler village yesterday.

Some buyers these days seem to feel that Whistler prices will be coming down sharply across the board.  Well, Whistler has not worked that way in the past.  And pricing has already dropped to 2002/2003 levels.  Interest rates are historically low and could be heading lower making the cost of borrowing money very attractive.  The PEAK2PEAK Gondola is set to open and attract a whole new (and huge) demographic (ie. Baby Boomers and non-recreation focused) of tourists to our little town.  Have you driven the Sea to Sky Highway lately...!  It is already faster by 20 minutes (I left downtown Vancouver at 5:07pm on Thursday and arrived in Whistler Creeksdie at 6:45pm- that is 1 hr 38min from DOWNTOWN!).

I have been getting more calls from the US from my PR and Internet marketing in the past two weeks than the past two months.  If you're paying in U.S. dollars buyers are looking at an almost 25% discount on already bargain pricing. Also, take a look at what what your money gets you in Vail or Aspen if you want to see exactly how good of a deal we already are.  Are Vail or Aspen hosting the Winter Olympic Games anytime soon....
