Nita Lake Lodge, Whistler BC, Changes Management
Nita Lake Lodge, Whistler, BC.
Whistler – The management of the Nita Lake Lodge is changing as a result of a strained relationship between the ownership and the company that has managed the property since its opening, officials with the management firm said this week.
However, a spokesperson for the owners of the 77-unit, strata-titled hotel said she was “surprised” by the wording of the statement released by Boutique Hotels and Resorts of B.C. (BHRBC) and denied that the hotel is in receivership, as the BHRBC statement suggested.
Mike Duggan, who currently serves as general manager hotel on Lake Placid Road, said in a statement issued on Tuesday (March 10) that his company, BHRBC, will no longer manage the lodge, effective March 31.
Duggan told The Question in an interview that he and three other senior managers will no longer be working at the lodge after that date.
