Its 8:00 AM in the morning and your phone rings. Its your Real Estate Agent and he/she is on their way and will be at your house in 2 hours. You look around house that is in disarray. Where do you start?
Step 1
Start that sink of dirty dishes soaking in the hottest soapy water you can find. Go on to your next task. Clear off the dining table if need be.
Step 2
Quick clean your living room. Declutter, pick up any loose personal belongings and put away or hide from sight. Quickly straighten all books and papers and stack neatly in a corner or on a table or in a book case.
Step 3
Pick up the dirty socks and other items the kids have left around and get them all to a hamper or clothes basket.
Step 4
Vacuum as soon as possible. Often this will make things look so much cleaner that you won't need to do much more, but don't stop there. Fluff the couch pillows.
Step 5
Dust all surfaces with a duster or a damp cloth. Always dust after you vacuum since the vacuum creates a dust that will settle on furniture afterward.
Step 6
Quickly make the beds. Fluff duvet and pillows so they look appear new/fresh. Pick up all clothes, slippers, etc. lying around and put out of sight.
Step 7
If you have a dishwasher quickly load it now after dishes have been soaking. Sweep floor and spot clean as needed.
Step 8
Dump bathroom garbage and quickly wipe down counters and rinse out tub and sink and toilet as needed. Shake rugs outside quickly.
Step 9
Now for your kitchen and fridge. Wipe counters, stove, sink and put all dishes away!. Yes" (Home Buyers look in the Fridge). You may want a helper with this. With a wet dishcloth in one hand wipe down obvious spills. If something smells off, get rid of it right away (have your helper make trash runs to the outside garbage as needed). Some people have a trash can on one side and a pan of hot soapy water on the other side of them and move things around while wiping the fridge.
